How long does it take for you to complete a portrait?
About 1-2 weeks, depending on how many orders are in front of you
and how complicated the piece is.
Can I get my portrait in a hurry?
I will do my best. But it may cost extra if I have to put you ahead of
other orders. I may have to add 15% to the cost.. If it is for
Christmas or graduation, order as soon as possible to beat the rush!
Do you offer larger sizes?
Yes. I can draw larger sizes. If you look in my price table on the
'prices' page, you'll see I offer large sizes. The price depends on
the size and I will give you a special quote.
Does "portrait size" mean the size of the paper?
No. The paper I draw on is about an inch or two on each size larger
than the portrait itself. Instead, the "portrait size" is what you see
through the opening of your frame or mat .
What's a "subject?"
A subject is the focus of your portrait, a pet, a house, a person. You
can have one subject in your portrait or several, but you will be
charged extra for each subject.
How much does a portrait cost?
The charts should explain it all. If you still can't figure it out, just
email me what you want and I'll tell you the cost.
Can I get my portrait framed?
Yes, I'll frame your portrait. I use a classic wooden frame in either
brown or black. It is framed under glass surrounded with an acid mat
in either gray, cream or khaki, backed with an acid free board to
protect your artwork.
How can I pay?
You can pay by credit card securely online through PayPal (no
PayPal account needed). PayPal is the secure service that handles
my credit payments. I will send you an invoice. Paypal charges a
percentage that will have to be tacked onto the total cost. I do have
to charge tax and a shipping fee if necessary. You can also pay by
check. Just tell me so and I will email you my mailing address.
Why pay half now and half later?
I want us both to feel confident and this has worked for both parties
very successfully in the past.
How do you ship my portrait?
I use U.S. Priority Mail.Let me know if you want to pay extra for
insurance or confirmation. You can check out Priority Mail costs for
delivery on the USPS website. And you can track your shipment
there too.
Can I call you?
I would prefer communicating thru email, but if you need to talk to
me, let me know and I'll give you a call during normal business hours
9:00 - 5:00 CST.
Will the portrait smudge or turn yellow?
Your portrait is less likely to smudge because I spray it with a
fixative.. Also the paper won't yellow with age as I use acid-free,
archival paper or museum=quality illustration board.
Can I commission you to paint a portrait in oil?
Sure, you can! Of course, it will cost more as it is much, much more
labor intensive and it will take weeks. Just contact me and we can
talk about prices.
Will you draw a group?
Yes, and the cost would depend on how detailed the faces are and
how many people are in it. It will require me seeing the photo first,
then I'll give you a custom quote.
Will you draw or paint other subjects?
Yes. I can draw or paint just about anything - landscapes, pets,
house portraits, etc. Just let me know what you want and I'll give
you a quote.
Do you want me to tell my friends and family about you?
Definitely yes. I depend greatly upon referrals throuhg word of
mouth and on internet social networks. If you like my work, please
