| A character study portrait is a lot more complicated to design, but has the potential to be very fun and charged with lots of energy. It has elements in addition to the portrait subject that reveal his or her character, their occupation, hobby, or anything relevant to their life. Sometimes a photo taken in a particular stting reveals it all, but sometimes it takes work to compile different pictures or objects to design a composition that makes magic happen! Sometimes the meaning is not obvious to those who don't know the person who is being "studied". This type of portraiture has a deep history in art, as symbolism has been used throughout history in portraiture to reveal that person's accomplishmnets, beliefs, status or character. |
